Windsor Castle

 

We will have a private Guided Tour of the Great Kitchen and State Apartments (which is the main item of the day) at 13.00 pm ending at approx.14.30 pm.

Tickets will include a talk about Royal Dining past and present, and about preparations for State occasions today. We visit the Great Kitchen via the Medieval Undercroft - areas not normally open to the public. After the Tour, the ticket includes admission to St.George’s.Chapel, the Dolls House etc. We HOPE to arrange a visit to one or more of the small Grace and Favour houses near the Chapel.

Depart: Abergavenny Coach/Bus Station at 08.00 am.
Arrive: Windsor Castle at 11.00 am approx. (Time to see the Town and have lunch/coffee before meeting for the Tour).
Depart: Windsor Castle at 16.30 pm (PROMPT)
Arrive: Abergavenny. at 19.30 pm approx.

£50 per person
to include travel and all-day entry to Windsor Castle, but NOT lunch

Castell Coch
We will have a private Guided Tour of this late nineteenth-century ‘fairytale’-style castle, built on medieval remains, designed for the third marquess of Bute by William Burges. and lavishly decorated and furnished in the Victorian Gothic style. The tour will be led by the curator of Cardiff Castle, Matthew Williams, an expert on the Burges/Bute partnership
The tour will start at 14.15 promptly.
Participants should make their own arrangements to travel to Castell Coch which is close to M4 Junction 32. Take the northbound A470 then look for the brown signs. There is plenty of parking around the castle.
£5 per person
which covers the cost of Entry and the Tour, only
